Grazie Oriana.
A volte doloroso. THANK YOU ORIANA - After a year of her death. It is time now to write it down, and it is with a great honour that we dedicate to you these words, with the hope that we can do it as you did: with the passion of life. What we would like to remember of you, is the courage and perseverance with which you always wrote, sometimes referring to the “Rage and pride”, or to the “Force of reason”. Even if your ideas were in part loved and in part hated, what everyone should recognize is the motive of your intellectual battle. It is the same reason that lead you to write “A man”: a book about a hero that fought alone for freedom and truth, without surrender. Let’s not focus on the topics that you always wrote about with which we completely agree, but we find appropriate to remember another aspect of your being, which links all different political views and – don’t be shocked, gentlemen! – communists, pacifists, no-global, arcobalenisti and pluriculturalists… We let you explain this common denominator: «what if the world Insciallah – destiny – Insciallah means the triumph of life? What if it was Life the destiny of all things?». In any of your thoughts we can see the deep effort and perspicacity you put towards existential questions. Through your books we can feel a strong desire towards Life, with a capital letter, accompanied with a subtle veil of melancholy. However, you understand that only superficial man can be regardless and sluggishly happy: uneasiness often is what makes humanity alive. This is how you have expressed you being uneasy with yourself: «see how short Life is!, Too short, much too short. Both if you are made of words, or rather paper, or made of flesh, hard as a desert’s flower. One of those flowers who blossoms in the dawn and dries out in the sunset. I’ve read they’re really beautiful, maybe because they last just one day. This makes them precious and…they’ve called me, they are calling me». Even more recently: «I love Life so much, do you know what I mean? I’m sure that Life is beautiful even when it’s awful, that birth is the master miracle, Life is the major Gift. Even if it is a hard gift, sometimes painful. With the same passion I hate death, I cannot figure it out. I only comprehend that it is part of Life and without death there won’t be Life». These thoughts became your philosophy of Life, your way of thinking, acting and loving. In fact in “Interview with history” you ask to Alekos what does it mean being a man: «means being brave, have dignity and believe in humanity…fight and win». With your sensitivity you told, you shout but never put the hope in a corner: «dying…, a break, a short sleep to rebirth, to live again, to die again, but reborn once more, live again, live, live to infinity». We wish you all that, Oriana.
